Responsibilities:
As a Journeyman Electrician (Commercial/Industrial), you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems under general supervision. Your duties will include:
- Installing, repairing, and troubleshooting wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and machinery components in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Interpreting and working from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and manuals to complete assignments.
- Installing and connecting power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in both new and existing facilities.
- Installing, repairing, and calibrating control and distribution equipment, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, and circuit-breaker panels.
- Testing electrical circuits and systems for continuity, compatibility, and safety using appropriate meters and testing equipment.
- Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and installing electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threaders, and conduit benders.
- Maintaining safe working conditions and ensuring the safe operation of all electrical installations on the project site.
- Keeping accurate daily records of materials used and labor hours.
Qualifications & Skills (Required):
- Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards.
- Ability to use all standard hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work the specified shift hours for the project's duration.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
