Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team in Newtown, PA. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of engineering/project engineering experience in heavy construction and a strong background in highways, bridges, deep foundations, water/wastewater plants, industrial electrical, marine, and industrial facilities. This role requires initiative, excellent planning and problem‑solving skills, effective communication, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

What You’ll Do:
- Review, coordinate, submit, and track project submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Perform construction design work including form/pour drawings, major pick plans, and layout of pipe/equipment/conduit
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and blueprints to plan projects effectively
- Manage project cost and performance with field personnel to track, control, and deliver successful results
- Generate job cost reports for assigned projects
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards
- Track and submit claims as required
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in the heavy civil industry
- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, changing schedules and priorities
- Strong knowledge of industry practices, OSHA requirements, equipment, and QA/QC standards
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally (within 1–2 hours)
- OSHA 10‑Hour Certification a plus
- Marine construction experience a plus
